RAIN GARDENS

Erosion and drainage problems on residential sites can be addressed by adding a Rain Garden, which buffersstorm water flow. Concentrated runoff is collected, flows through the soil and is released slowly or infiltrated. Plants in the garden remove nutrients from the runoff. The Rain Gardens are designed for site-specific conditions and to meet current regulations.

Estes Design can design and install a Rain Garden to meet your needs. Many projects qualify for cost-share programs. Contact us for details!

Erosion    Excavate
Erosion from concentrated runoff.     A rain garden will intercept the runoff.

Excavation    Overflow
Pits encourage infiltration.     An overflow drain is added for heavy storms.

Backfill    Spread Soils
Well-draining soil fills the Rain Garden.        Excavated soils can be spread on site.

Planter
Native Plants remove nutrients from the runoff.

WATER HARVESTING

Estes Design can also help with Cisterns, Rain Barrels and other Water Harvesting methods. Our designs and installations are appropriately sized for the site, and meet the latest codes and standards.
